Apr 7, 2008 Windows has flagged up the following,

"Virus alert: Microsoft detected the Win32/PSW.Lineage.DN/ PWS-Lineage virus on your computer".

"This problem was caused by Win32/PSW.Lineage.DN/ PWS-Lineage, a known computer virus".

I am running Vista Home with Norton Internet Security, Windows Defender and Ad Aware. None of them detect it.
Any fixes out there??

VirusScan should be able to clean it. If you get "Write-Protected" type errors, it may be necessary to disable System
Restore, reboot into safe mode and scan there.

To disable System Restore in Vista go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore and click the
item "To create a restore point, open System Protection". Turn it off from there.

To boot into Safe Mode tap F8 repeatedly while booting up.

To scan in safe mode go to My Computer, right-click the hard drive and click "Scan" from the drop-down menu.

Download, install & run extra anti-spyware tools:

I ran SUPERantispyware in safe mode with system restore temporarily disabled and the Trojan was detected and
cleaned. Many thanks my friend.
