HB 120
Establishes the 2009 sales tax holiday dates to provide Georgians with tax relief when purchasing back to school clothing and supplies, and energy and water efficient products.

2009 Dates
The “Back to School” sales tax holiday will be July 30 - August 2 The “Energy Star” and “Water Sense” sales tax holiday will be October 1 - October 4

Items Exempt from Sales Tax: Back to School
Clothing and footwear with a sales price of $100 or less per item


Personal computers and computer related accessories with a sales price of $1,500 or less


General school supplies with a sales price of $20 or less per item


Items Exempt from Sales Tax: Energy Star and Water Sense
“Energy Star” designated products with a sales price up to $1500 for home/personal use. Includes: –Dish/clothes washers, Air conditioners, ceiling fans, programmable thermostats, etc.


“Water Sense” designated products with a sales price up to $1500 which are purchased for home/personal use.

