Hanging of Greens, Luminaries Presentation and Christmas Program, December 6th at 6:00 pm; Soup and Sandwiches will be severed Christmas Card Collection ends on Wednesday, December 9th Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Collection through the month of December Christmas Card Pick Up on Sunday, December 20th in your classroom or front pew of church Christmas, Friday December 25th New Years Day, Friday January 1st Peru Mission Trip, January 29 – February 4th
Dear Church Family, Back on November 8th I preached a sermon from 2 Timothy 2:1-2 "You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others." Here Paul is simply echoing what Jesus said after his resurrection in Matthew 28:19, "Go therefore and make disciples..." We live in a much different culture today than even our parents and grandparents did some 50-60 years ago. The pace of life has picked up, we have more material things than any culture in the history of time, and yet we have less time it seems to enjoy the things we have. Unfortunately in some ways this type of lifestyle has crept into the church of Jesus Christ in America. Our busy lifestyles, our hobbies, our increasing workloads seem to keep us from one of the main missions of the church...relationships. Common sense tells us it is hard to build strong, binding New Testament Christian relationships by only seeing each other in passing a couple hours a week. The reason that Timothy was such a solid disciple was not his ability. Timothy was described as sickly and timid. But the apostle Paul had invested his time and energy, into molding young Timothy into a disciple. They did that by living life together. In my sermon I used this illustration. We learned how to tie our shoes, throw a curveball, plant a field of cotton, fry chicken, etc by someone teaching us by example and by guided practice. We did not learn those things from workshops, seminars, or reading it in a book. Now there are times for those things, but that is not how disciples are made. The Bible lays out for us a much more personal and Biblical approach. Beginning very soon everyone is going to have the opportunity to get involved in this endeavor. To be straightforward, it will take men and women of God who are tired of playing at their faith and desire to become the full fledged, sold out, followers of Jesus Christ they have always wanted to become. One that falls in love with God, His Word, and serves their God by serving others. This is an opportunity for men and women to get together in small groups to study, learn, laugh, cry, serve and live life together. Jesus turned the world upside down with 12 imperfect men who simply followed and were molded by Him. My prayer is God will turn our church and our community upside down with a few imperfect men and women who will simply choose to follow and be molded by Him. I cannot wait to see what God does! I am pumped, excited and eager! I hope you are too. Please

be in much prayer about this.
Love you guys, Pastor Allen
