Message from 2009 President Bob Rouse
NOT WORTH THE GAMBLE

Hello everyone, It is hard to believe that June is already here and we are almost half way through 2009. If you have not been regularly attending monthly dinner meetings or participating in some way within the Home Builders Association, you have really missed out on some GREAT opportunities. I’ll always want everyone to keep their sights on the future although I would like to consider some of the highlights for the first half of the year. I strongly believe in order to be productive in your industry, YOU MUST BE INFORMED. Our various programs included Market Minute Updates to inform us of material, mortgage and real estate trends as well as current and upcoming legislative issues. Our friend Representative Wil Neumann has kept us informed on the state level and our Metro Study program educated us on the economic front. Programs and classes on Green Building and Icynene Insulating prepare each of us for changes in the future. Thanks to Linda Lu we now have an efficient and professional Home Builder office and informative website (www.gastonhomebuilders.org). We are doing a much better job at reaching out to our community and sponsoring events to promote the home builders of Gaston County. More than ever we are asking members to do business with members. I could go on although I won’t. MY POINT… Every month some of us must decide whether or not it is to our benefit to renew our membership or for others, whether to join the GCHBA. After reading just a few of the things we are doing above I hope you agree with me that that there is a real benefit to be a part of this Association. We are an ever changing industry and we are an Association on the move. GREAT PEOPLE! GREAT PROGRAMS! GREAT INFORMATION! Don’t gamble on your future, be a part of it! Bob Rouse 2009 President
