SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2008

If Ribbon Cuttings and Grand Openings are an indication of the business climate in Colonial Heights, we are booming! The month of August has seen a number and we already have four on the calendar for September. We urge you to try and make these events—they only take a few minutes, but mean so much to our merchants. It is back to school time – and I am not sure there is another locality that enjoys the partnership we do with our school system. To all that make this an important focal point of our Chamber we thank you. If you did not attend the “Back to School Breakfast” you missed an exceptional event. Our appreciation to all who made this breakfast so special. We especially thank our Sponsors “State Farm Insurance” we could not have made this happen without your support. To those who contributed to the goody bags, Boulevard Flowers for their special contribution and to Chef Wareham and his students we express our appreciation. Much goes on behind the scenes, and we express our appreciation to all of you special folks. Your support is needed again! Throughout this newsletter you will find reference to “Vegas in the Heights”. Please help us make this one of the signature events of the Chamber. We need your sponsorship, your contributions of stage prizes, but most of all we need you to support the event by purchasing tickets and attending. We promise you - you will not be disappointed. Look forward to seeing you at our next scheduled event. Remember school is in session let’s drive carefully and responsibly. Sincerely, Bryan Bryan Small, President Colonial Heights Chamber of Commerce

MEMBERS AND GUESTS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND ALL BOARD MEETINGS.

A note from lamese
I am not sure how to begin to express my appreciation for all of the cards, gifts, visits, telephone calls, hugs, and most important of all prayers. There just aren’t enough words as to what every expression of support has meant to not only me, but to my family. I have completed three sessions of chemo and am facing three more sessions prior to being reevaluated. My hopes and prayers are the tumors will have disappeared and I will be declared cancer free! THANK YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!
