High School Student Mock Election Results Are In
WHAT Over 6,000 public high school students have voted in a mock election and results are in for President of the United States, San Francisco Board of Education commissioners, Board of Supervisors, and a handful of ballot measures including Proposition 8 and Proposition V.

Balboa High / 1000 Cayuga Ave. (near Seneca).
WHO WHY
Students in Balboa’s Academy of Information Technology. The voting was overseen by YouthVote, a civic engagement project that gives high school students an opportunity to voice their opinions about current youth issues, ballot measures, and political candidates running for election. Last fall, the San Francisco Board of Education, the SFUSD Student Advisory Council and the Mayor’s Youth Commission made YouthVote mandatory curriculum for every public high school in the city. YouthVote is coordinated by a coalition of education/voter advocacy groups including the San Francisco Youth Commission, the Student Advisory Council of SFUSD, and the Board of Education.
