AP-GfK Battleground State Poll Methodology The Associated Press-GfK Poll on was conducted October 22nd - 26th, 2008, by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media -- a division of GfK Custom Research North America. This poll in eight states is based on landline telephone interviews, with a nationally-representative probability sample of adults 18+ classified as likely voters. Likely voters completed the entire questionnaire; the balance of the sample completed a shorter version of the questionnaire. The sample was provided by Survey Sampling International. The survey sample included the contiguous 48 states, and Alaska and Hawaii. Interviews were conducted in both English and Spanish. In each state, the data were weighted to account for probabilities of selection, as well as age, sex, education and race, using targets from the March 2007 supplement of the Current Population Survey. The margin of sampling error is reported below, by state, for results based on the entire sample of adults, as well as likely voters. The margin of error varies for results based on sub-samples.
