Installation
   (1) Insert Rapidform XO DVD in your PC. The following autorun window appears. Click the INSTALL
       XO product button.




   (2) Click the Next button




   (3) Read the license agreement and then select “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and
       click the Next button.

(4) Click the Next button with the given default folder or select a different installation folder using
    the Change button.




(5) Click the Install button.

(6) Click the Finish button to complete installation of Rapidform XO product.




    Launch Rapidform XO – If checked, when you click the Finish button, Rapidform XO product runs.
    Show the readme file – If checked, when you click the Finish button, readme.txt file appears.

(7) To install tutorial and sample files click the OK button.




(8) Click the Next button.

(9) Click the Install button.




(10) Click the Finish button. The installation is completed.

RAPIDFORM LICENSING
This section provides information about licensing the software, getting an evaluation version,
virtual dongles, virtual dongles with local network sharing, deactivation, manual activation and
updating a license.


There are two kinds of license types:
    Virtual Dongle (Node Lock) - Using an activation code, anyone can activate or deactivate the
    software on any PC. Simply deactivate the software on one PC, and then activate it on another in
    order to migrate the license.


    Virtual Dongle with Local Network Sharing (Floating) - Just as above, you activate the software
    on any PC, but with this option, the activated PC can also serve the license key over a corporate
    network, allowing others to use the license without the need to connect to the internet to
    activate/deactivate license keys.


Getting An Evaluation License
For the purpose of evaluating the software, you can use it for free for a certain period without an
activation code.


    (1) After installing the application, run the application. You can freely use the application for a

        certain period of time.


        Note
    a) During the evaluation period, you will see the duration in the title bar.




    b) You can check your license information by clicking Help > License Information in the menu.
    c) Once the evaluation period of the application expires, an evaluation version of the application
    cannot be used on the same machine again. When you run the application with an expired
    evaluation period, you will see a dialog box similar to the one below. You can renew your
    activation code or if you already have a renewal activation code, you can activate the application
    with the new activation code using the second or third option on the dialog box.




Virtual Dongle (Node Lock)
Using an activation code, anyone can activate or deactivate the software on any PC. Simply deactivate
the software on one PC, and then activate it on another in order to migrate the license.
Online Activation
If your machine is connected to the internet, your activation code will be automatically validated

through the internet.


1)   Select Help > Activate License in the menu. Enter your activation code and click the Next button.




2)   Enter your contact information and click the Next button. Items marked by red star (*) are
     mandatory.

3)   If you complete the activation process, you will see an image similar to the one given below.
Click the Finish button. Activation is completed.




Off-line Activation
If your machine is not currently connected to the internet, you need to validate your license through
another PC which is connected to the internet.


1) Select Help > Activate License in the menu. Enter Your Activation and Maintenance code and
click the Next button.

2) Click the Save button and save the Request_Act.exe file.




     Note
If your network system won’t allow sending .exe files to other machines, click “If you are not able to
use .exe file, please click here” and follow the steps.

3) Move the Request_Act.exe file to the computer connected to the internet.




      Note
The .exe file contains both activation and maintenance codes, the client PC’s information and the
request type (activate/deactivate/repair).


4) Double click the Request_Act.exe file and save the Response_Act.nod file.




      Note
Running the Request_Act.exe file sends user info to the license server and creates the
Response_Act.nod file which contains a license file for the client PC. During the activation process,
user information is received from the customer database using your activation code and you can add
or edit it.


5) Move the Response_Act.nod file to the target computer.

6) Double click the Response_Act.nod file.




     Note
Running the Response_Act.nod file installs the license file to the client PC and activates Rapidform.


7) Activation is completed.




Online Deactivation
If you want to change PCs or want to install a new OS, you have to deactivate your license. If your
machine is currently connected to the internet, your activation code will be automatically deactivated
through the internet.


1) Select Help > Deactivate License in the menu.

2) Select a License Type in the list box and click Next button. Deactivation is completed.


Off-line Deactivation
If you want to use the application on another machine or install a new OS, you have to deactivate your
license. If your machine is not currently connected to the internet, you need to deactivate your
license through another PC which is connected to the internet.


1) Select Help > Deactivate License in the menu.

2) Select a License Type in the list box and click Next button.


3) Click the Save button and save the Request_DeAct.exe file.

4) Move the Request_DeAct.exe file to the computer connected to the internet.




      Note
The .exe file contains both activation and maintenance codes, the client PC’s information, and the
request type (activate/deactivate/repair).


5) Double click the Request_DeAct.exe and save the Response_DeAct.nod file.




      Note
Running the Request_DeAct.exe file sends user info to the license server and creates the
Response_DeAct.nod file which contains a license file for the client PC. During the deactivation
process, user information is received from the customer database using your activation code and you
can add or edit it.


6) Move the Response_DeAct.nod file to the target computer.

7) Double click the Response_DeAct.nod file.




8) Deactivation is completed.




Virtual Dongle with Local Network Sharing (Floating)
You can activate the software on any PC, but with this option, the activated PC can also serve the
license key over a corporate network, allowing other users to use the license without the need to
connect to the internet to activate/deactivate license keys.


Online Activation
If your machine is currently connected to the internet, your activation code will be automatically
validated through the internet.


It is necessary to activate the server PC and also to allow it to communicate with client PCs. To do
this you need to install “Setup Rapidform License Server Utility.exe” (C:\Program Files\INUS
Technology\Product Name\License) which is software that manages licenses of the server and client.




Server Activation

1) Install Setup Rapidform License Server Utility.exe which is located in “C:\Program Files\INUS
Technology\Product Name\License.” A new folder will be created at the following location:
“C:\Program Files\INUS Technology\Rapidform License Server Utility”


2) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Rapidform License Server Utility > Rapidform
License Server Utility. The following dialog box appears. Choose the first item: “I want to activate a
license.”
Click the Next button.




3) Enter your Activation Code and the Count of Clients which is the number of clients who can use
the application simultaneously. Check the Next button.

     Note
You can control clients with multiple servers. For example, if there are two servers and five clients,
one server can control two clients and the other server can control three clients.


4) Enter your contact information and click the Next button. Items marked by red star (*) are
mandatory.

5) Click the Finish button.




6) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Rapidform License Server Utility > Install
Service”


7) Go to Start > Control Panel on your machine and select Administrative Tools.

8) Select Services.




9) Click RMB (Right Mouse Button) on the RFXO License Service and select Start.

Client Activation




1) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Product Name > License Utility and select
“For Official Customer using Local Network License Sharing”. Click the Next button.

2) Enter the Server Name or IP address and click the Confirm button. Click the Finish button.




3) After accessing the server, you can start the application.


Checking Server License Information
1) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Rapidform License Server Utility > Rapidform
License Server Utility.

2) Select “I want to see activated license information” and click the Next button.

Off-line Activation
If your machine is not currently connected to the internet, you need to validate your license through
another PC which is connected to the internet.


It is necessary to activate the server PC and also to allow it to communicate with client PCs. To do
this you need to install “Setup Rapidform License Server Utility.exe” (C:\Program Files\INUS
Technology\Product Name\License) which is software that manages the licenses of the server and
client.


Server Activation




1) Install Setup Rapidform License Server Utility.exe which is located at “C:\Program Files\INUS
Technology\Product Name \License”. Then a new folder will be created at the following location:
“C:\Program Files\INUS Technology\Rapidform License Server Utility”


2) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Rapidform License Server Utility > Rapidform
License Server Utility. The following dialog box appears. Choose “I want to activate a license.” and
click the Next button.

4) Enter your Activation Code, Maintenance Code and Count of Clients which is number of clients
who can use the application simultaneously. Click the Next button.

5) Click the Save button and save the Request_Act.exe file.




     Note
If your network system won’t allow the sending of .exe files to other machines, click “If you are not
able to use .exe file, please click here” and follow the steps.

8) Move the Request_Act.exe file to the computer connected to the internet.




      Note

9) Double click the Request_Act.exe file to generate a Response_Act.flo file.




      Note
Running the Request_Act.exe file sends user info to the license server and creates the
Response_Act.flo file which contains a license file for the client PC. During the activation process,
user information is received from the customer database using your activation code and you can add
or edit it.


10) Move the Response_Act.flo file to the target computer.

11) Double click the Response_Act.flo file.




12) Repeat step 2 ~ step 11.


     Note
In case you activate the floating license for the first time, you need to repeat from step 2 to step 11.
However if you already activate the floating license once, you don’t need to repeat them.


13) Activation is completed.




14) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Rapidform License Server Utility > Install
Service.


15) Go to Start > Control Panel on your machine and select Administrative Tools.

16) Select Services.




17) Click RMB (Right Mouse Button) on the RFXO License Service and select Start.

Client Activation




1) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Product Name > License Utility and select

Uninstall Service
1) Go to Start > Control Panel on your machine and select Administrative Tools.




2) Select Services.

3) Click RMB (Right Mouse Button) on the RFXO License Service and select Stop.




4) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Rapidform License Server Utility > Uninstall
Service.


Server Deactivation
1) Run Start > All Programs > INUS Technology > Rapidform License Server Utility > Rapidform
License Server Utility.


2) Select “I want to deactivate a license” and click the Next button.

3) Select a License Type in the list box and click Next button. Deactivation is completed.




Client Deactivation
A license is not saved on the client PC because the client PC gets the license from server PC.
Therefore there is no deactivation involved for a client PC. If the server is changed, clients need to
change the server name to the correct one when you start the application.

License Server Utility.


2) Select “I want to deactivate a license” and click the Next button.

Licensing Checklist
When you can’t start the application due to license-related problems, check the following error
messages and find a corresponding solution.


        Completed installing an evaluation license.
        Message: Evaluation license installation completed. Please restart the application.
        → Run the application again.


        Error during installing evaluation license.
        Message: Evaluation license installation has failed.
        → Ask Rapidform XO technical support center.


        If a field is empty when you enter activation code.
        Message: Please input activation code.
        → Fill out empty field.


        If a field is empty when you enter User info.
        Message: Please input user information.
        → Fill out empty field.


        Successful activation
        Message: activation has completed successfully.


        Impossible to connect to operation server during activation.
        Message: Cannot find server. Please check network connection.
        → Check your network.


        When the first process in manual activation is successful.
        Message: First step of manual license configuration has been completed. Proceeding to
        next step.
        → Go to the second process.

Successful deactivation
Message: License has been deactivated.


Impossible to connect to operation server during deactivation.
Message: Cannot find server. Please check network connection.
→ Check your network.


System date has been set back
→ Check the system date & time of your pc and set the current date & time.
