Verizon Wireless Partners with the New Mexico Workforce Connection to Host Job Fair
Santa Fe, New Mexico. February 26, 2007. The New Mexico Workforce Connection, Northern Area, recently sponsored a Verizon Career Blitz that was open to all Northern New Mexico residents interested in pursuing a career at Verizon Wireless. To meet the growing demand for sales and customer service representatives, Verizon teamed up with the New Mexico Workforce Connection to hold the job fair, which took place on February 20. The February Career Blitz was a great success, as Verizon hired several of the candidates who attended. When asked what Verizon is looking for in an employee, one of their Regional Sales Managers, Ken Kashuba, stated, “The spirit of the business really is customer service, so we’re looking for people who are customerdriven and can find solutions to meet our customers’ diverse needs.” Mr. Kashuba also mentioned that Verizon is looking for full-time employees who can work a flexible schedule and be able to travel and attend 3-4 weeks of paid training upon hire. Mr. Kashuba went on to say, “Verizon can offer a very rewarding career with excellent pay and benefits. One of the things I most enjoy about working for Verizon is it’s never the same. Everyone who comes into our store or calls one of our call centers has a different story and a different need, and it’s great to be able to build that bridge with the customer to help them find the best possible solution.” The next Verizon Career Blitz will be held at the New Mexico Workforce Connection’s Santa Fe One Stop on Tuesday, March 6 from 10-2. Interested applicants should attend the WIA Orientation scheduled for March 5 at 9:00 a.m., so they can pre-apply online.
The day of the job fair, applicants should bring a resume, dress professionally, and come prepared for an onsite interview. For more information on the next Career Blitz or to learn more about the New Mexico Workforce Connection’s myriad career development and placement services, please call (505) 473-5831.
