Iowa State University Women’s Enrichment Fund Mini-Grants Spring 2008 Application Process Guidelines About the Women’s Enrichment Fund Mini-Grants The Women’s Enrichment Fund is designed to support initiatives that will enrich the experiences of women faculty, staff and students at Iowa State University. For the period from March 5, 2008 through June 30, 2009, funds are available to be awarded in “mini-grants” to support initiatives affecting women on the ISU campus. Funds may also be requested for seed money, to stimulate additional donations from other sources in support of women. Examples of initiatives eligible for funding might include:     Leadership programs for women faculty, staff, and students. Enrichment or development of courses on topics related to women’s issues. Lectures by outstanding women leaders and role models. Mentoring programs for women faculty, staff and students. Mini-grant proposals may be requested by ISU faculty, staff, or student organizations. Examples of previously funded projects can be found at: http://www.provost.iastate.edu/fad/2006-2007.pdf The maximum amount that may be requested through the mini-grant process is $5,000. Grants may not be used to support equipment. Total food expense should not exceed 30% of grant request. The following criteria will be used to evaluate proposals:        Demonstrated effect on ISU women. Evidence of collaboration among various units on campus; evidence of potentially broad or continuing impact. Sensitivity to under-represented groups on campus. Demonstrated support for important programs on campus or for creating new directions in existing programs. Direct support of the University Strategic Plan at http://www.iastate.edu/~strategicplan/ and/or the Implementation Plan for Diversity, Equity, & Community at http://www.hrs.iastate.edu/AAO/eod/implementation_plan.pdf If continuing support is requested, proposal must demonstrate effective use of prior funding. Evaluation and assessment of proposal’s impact as noted in proposal. An impact report will be due to the Office of the Provost no later than June 30, 2009. 10-9-07 Funding to support the Women’s Enrichment Mini-Grants provided by the ISU Foundation as part of the Greater University Fund of Excellence.
