She is experienced in both litigation and transactional law, and counsels U.S. and foreign clients on matters of intellectual property protection, technology law and cross-border transactions. Ms Beldiman writes and lectures regularly on topics of intellectual property and international transactions in the U.S. and overseas. Ms. Beldiman is an adjunct faculty member of Santa Clara University School of Law (Santa Clara, California), and a regular visiting lecturer at the Riga Graduate School of Law (Riga, Latvia) and Bucerius Law School (Hamburg, Germany). Ms. Beldiman chairs the International Section of the San Francisco Bar Association, has been a member of the e-commerce task force of the International Section of the ABA, and has acted as Chair of its Telecommunications Committee. She serves on the boards of numerous legal and business organizations and acts as the Honorary Consul General for Romania in San Francisco. Ms. Beldiman received her M.A. from the University of Bucharest, Romania, her J.D. from Hastings College of the Law, and her LLM in Intellectual Property from Santa Clara University School of Law. Richard J. Pettler, Partner; San Francisco. University of California, Berkeley (B.A., 1970); University of West Los Angeles Law School (J.D., 1977). A member of the California Bar since 1977, Mr. Pettler manages the firm's Export Controls Practice Group. Mr. Pettler regularly advises domestic and foreign companies on compliance with U.S. export control laws including the Export Administration Regulations ("EAR"), International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and sanctions regulations administered by the U.S. Department of Treasury, Office of Foreign Assets Control. Representative matters include enforcement actions and settlement negotiations with various U.S. government agencies, export control due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, compliance audits, corporate compliance programs, commodity jurisdiction disputes, and regulatory revisions. Mr. Pettler is a member of the Export Control Committee for the American Electronics Association, the American Bar Association's International Law Section and the California Bar Association. He is also a frequent lecturer and author on export control compliance and has been asked to provide testimony before Congress on U.S. Export Control and Visa Processing.
