“Virtual Partnerships and Supply Chain Management”                                      (January 2001 - February 2002)
MTech Dissertation at IIT, Bombay

The objective of this individual research project was to develop a decision support system to match buyers and suppliers in
the e-marketplace, given requirements of the buyer and specifications of the supplier. An entity called ‘Cybermediary’
facilitates these matches leading to a virtual partnership between buyer and supplier
     Reviewed literature on virtual enterprises, e-markets and supply chain management
     Designed a framework for ‘Cybermediary’ system using Soft Systems Methodology
     Developed a decision support system for the cybermediary using techniques of Analytical Hierarchy Process and
         Utility theory
     Developed completely and computerised modules of ‘Search’, ‘Directory’, ‘Matchmaker’ and ‘Product
         Identification’

“Supply Management”                                                                         (July 2000 - November 2000)
MTech Credit Seminar at IIT, Bombay

The objective of this individual seminar was to study the concept of supply management as a function evolved from the
traditional purchasing function.
     Reviewed extensive literature on recent trends in supply management and strategic supply management including
         supplier development and strategic alliances

The objective of this two-member team project was to study the phenomenon of distortion due to different welding
processes and the ways of controlling by use of fixtures and selection of welding parameters.
     Conducted a literature survey on welding processes such as GTAW, MIG, SMAW and their applications, study of
        ferrous metals (plain-carbon steel, alloy steels and stainless steels) and welding fixtures
     Performed a number of experiments to study the distortion of mild-steel test pieces by varying parameters within a
        welding process and across different welding processes
