reports & notices

The last month has been a good one, our two new staff Danielle and Ellis have slotted well into our little angels family along with our two new little Marcham Angels. Our new topic is Marcham Village we are looking closely at the village buildings, people and village life. The children visited the church, the post office where they sent post cards to themselves and walked around the village looking at the garage, cottages, school and college. We feel it is important that the children are aware of their surroundings. The little angels have also been looking at the villagers of Abingdon and drawing the people of the village e.g. dog walkers, cricketers, minister, school teachers, and café helpers. We have just recently had an Ofsted inspection, this went well with us achieving a Good in all areas, we are delighted to receive such encouraging feedback and comments from the inspector and please feel free to read are inspection on the web site, just log onto Ofsted ( and type in our registration number EY361920. I would like to congratulate my team of little angels and big angels for continuing to make this setting a stimulating, educational, caring and fun place to be. We are hoping to have a funday during the summer so watch this space. If you would like to pop in and say hello our door is always open or if you have any questions you would like to ask about our Little angels setting please feel free to call us on 07516474287 or email little-angels@ntlworld. com

Dog Poo Poem
Old Mr Milligan walking down the lane Slipped on the mess of his own Great Dane. Now he’s in a bath chair looking rather sad, Never would have happened if he’d put it in a bag. Guide dog, gun dog, guard dog, stray. Put it in the bag man, squirrel it away. Put it in your hat man, it’ll keep you warm. Keep it in your pocket on a frost bit morn. Poor Mrs Harrison, slipped when she tripped, Off on the prom with her poodle toodle pip. Didn’t see dog mess, slipped off the quay, Caught by a rip tide, swept out to sea. Wolf Hound, blood hound, Pug, Pekingese, Put it in the bag man, don’t be a tease. Inside, out, give a good, firm grab. Put it in the bag man, put it in the bag. So remember, in the event of your Chihuahua, Shih Tzu or Sausage dog fouling the footpath, Don’t be a cad, just put it in the bag. Murray Lachlan-Young

Are you the volunteer we are looking for? Guideposts Trust is running a friendship scheme for people with learning disabilities in Oxfordshire. We are looking for volunteers from all over the county, who are aged 16+ to join the scheme and make a difference to someone’s life. If you enjoy going to the pub, bowling, cinema, the gym or just socialising in general, you could be the person we need. All you need to give is a couple of hours to help someone have fun and enjoy life. You don’t need experience, you just need to be a caring person who wants to help others. Guideposts Trust will offer volunteers support and will meet your out of pocket expenses.
