The collection includes a variety of genealogical materials, including U.S. censuses 1790-1930 with indexes; marriage/birth data for 117,000,000 deceased persons from U.S. and other countries; 12,000,000 family group records for four generations or recent families of the Church of Latter-Day Saints; family histories; pedigree charts; pre1900 vital records from U.S. and English countries; genealogical periodicals, various death indexes, including Vietnam and Korean War, and Social Security; church records, etc. Photocopy service and internet access are available. Staff are available for assistance at no charge.

NARA preserves and makes available for government and public research the nation's records of enduring value. The Pacific Region facility holds records of federal agencies in Northern California, Nevada (except Clark County), Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, and the Pacific Trust Territories, including the records of federal district and appellate courts. It also holds U.S. Census for every state on microfilm, 1790-1930. There is a self-service microfilm research room, and textual research room for original records available. Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of California
