After waiting so long for summer to arrive in New England, it’s already “Back to School Time” and time to gear up for Fall and Holiday classes. We’ve missed seeing all our “students” this summer and hope that everyone’s ready to come in to see What’s New and join us for some inspiring classes and special events. If our scheduled “project” classes don’t mesh with your calendar be sure to consider our “ongoing” open classes. During these times you can “choose” your project and work on it at your convenience with a teacher’s assistance. Check out our special “Christmas Is Coming” class listing.
Come work on applique, piecing, stitchery, or Rags to Rugs projects. Girl’s Night Out – Quilting – Tuesdays – 7 – 9:30 PM. All levels welcome. Weekly starting Sept. 1. There will be no class on 9/29 or 10/6. $10/class Quizza – Quilting – Fridays – 4 PM – Midnight. Sept. 11, Oct. 23, Nov. 6 & 20, Dec. 4 & 18 What could be better than that combo – Quilts & Pizza! Leave everything else behind and sew, sew, sew! It’s amazing how much you can accomplish with no everyday distractions. Get yourself set up in our classroom and just focus on your projects, the camaraderie and food. Pizza, drinks and homemade desserts and finished projects are your reward! Learn new skills! Beginners are welcomed. Come for any time period! $15/class Painting Party with Grace – Fridays 9:30 AM – 12 Noon Starts Sept. 11 $15/class Wednesday s – 7 – 9:30 PM Starts Oct. 14 $15/class Ongoing for all levels of decorative painting. Grace will teach beginners, help you start a new project or complete an unfinished one.

Quilters Dessert Sampler – Something sweet and new! Join our “Quilter’s Dessert” Sampler! Combine fantastic desserts (which we will serve to you) with corresponding beautiful blocks (which you will piece) for both kitchen and classroom fun! (Pattern box with recipes and patterns needs to be purchased before class.) Thurs. Sept. 17, Oct. 29, Nov. 12, Dec. 10 7 – 9:30 PM $15/class Garden Gathering – A wool felt applique floral collection on appliqued circle. What an impressive quilt you can create with simple techniques. A great project for learning how to work with Wool Felts. Book needed for class. Tues. QUILTING AND MORE
Machine Quilting – Learn to machine quilt with Lisa Driscoll. She will teach you how to use your walking foot, stippling foot, proper threads to use….all you need to know to machine quilt. Sat. Oct. 17 10 AM – 2 PM $40 Rags to Rugs – Everyone loves this thick, durable rug woven (not braided) from strips of fabric on our wooden frames you must purchase for class. Great way to put these ugly fabrics to good use! Book included. Frames $42 – Large $20 – Small Rug will not be completed during this time. Work on it at home and finish up at your convenience in one of our “Open Classes”. Sat. Nov. 14 9:30 AM – 1 PM $25 – class
REFLECTIONS OF THE PAST
Come paint with Cynthia and learn the celebrated “50/50” techniques that the shop is known for. These are original designs taught using stencils to basecoat with freehand embellishment to finish. All stencils are custom cut for use in class and are not included in class fees. For beginners and experienced painters! Class paints and surfaces are included in fees. Students must purchase prep and class supplies. Please bring to class: Palette pad, paper towels, masking tape, ruler, chalk or soapstone pencil, sanding disc, 2” sponge brush, required “StencilEase” stencil brushes, (if you don’t have these brushes they may be purchased during class), random other supplies listed for specific projects. Most classes require advance preparation. Please check and call if you have any questions! Santa Dummy Boards: Seaspray Santa – Our Summer beachside Santa class that vacationing students may have missed. We are repeating this one because “to see him is to love him!”. PREP Wood included. Sept. 30 10 AM – 2 PM $48 Winter Oval Panel – The fourth in our seasonal series of oval scenes in a woodgrained frame. Oct. 26 7 – 11 PM $48 Old Maine Woodbox – A large primitive box meant to hold kindling and scraps of wood headed for the toasty fire. PREP Wood included. Sat.
