INSIGHTS TO POWERFUL LIVING
July: The Month of Our Declaration of Dependence

No, that is not a typo. Yes, we are very grateful that our forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence. And we acknowledge with humble gratitude the many young people who have died in the war so that we may live in a free country. But this is about our dependence on the Lord. It says in the Bible in the book of Acts, Chapter 17, verse 28: “for in Him (God) we live and move and have our being…” In Genesis 2:7, “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” Psalms 150:6: “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” Before I came to know Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I led a very miserable life. Talk about a 190 degree turn around! I was lost and sinking fast. I did the wrong

things for what I thought were the right reasons. But He woke me out of my sentence on death row. I will never go back to my old lifestyle. Yes, there are days when things don‟t go quite right for me, but I still count it all joy. I know that “all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”(Romans 8:28) Another benefit I‟ve received by being on the side of the Lord is …“If God is for us, who can be against us?” In other words, we‟ll always have the victory if we put our trust in the Lord. Defeat is not for a child of God! Be like a little child and fall back into your heavenly Daddy‟s arms. He‟ll always be there to catch you!

Health Tip of the Month by Dr. Jim Marcoux
Red: Good for you Dark red cherries- are particularly beneficial in reducing the risk of colon cancer. They posses a high count of antioxidants that boost your immune system. And they have been known to help to relieve inflammation caused by fibromyalgia or overexercise. Apples- contain quercetin, catechin, phloridzin, and chlorogenic acid, all which are strong antioxidants; thus inhibit cancer cell proliferation, decrease lipid oxidation and lower cholesterol. (Obviously, „An apple a day keeps the doctor away‟ is a true saying). Tomatoes – are rich in lycopene which acts as an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals that can damage cells in the body. Lycopene has been proven to help prevent cancer, heart disease, cataracts and many other conditions. White: Good for you Plain or vanilla yogurt – plays a major role in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. It may reduce the risk of high blood pressure and may help certain gastrointestinal conditions including: lactose intolerance, constipation, diarrhea, colon cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease. Garlic – promotes the well-being of the heart and immune systems with antioxidant properties and helps maintain healthy blood circulation. It has been shown to retard tumor growth in human subjects in some parts of the world. White nectarines, white peaches, cauliflower, onions, shallots, white corn - contain varying amounts of phytochemicals which promote heart health, a lower risk of cancer, and healthy cholesterol levels.

Blue: Good for You Blueberries – contain varying amounts of phytochemicals such as anthocyanins and phenolics, currently being studied for their antioxidant and anti-aging benefits. They help promote a lower risk of some cancers, help maintain urinary tract health, memory function and healthy aging. Bilberries – help in the healing of diseases such as mucous membrane inflammation, varicose veins and diarrhea. They aid in improving the eye‟s health, as well as improving night vision. They are recommended for heart patients as they help in improving blood circulation and aid in improving the artery walls. † Red: Bad for you Artificial Red food coloring in cookies, candies, juices and cake decorations and in some shampoos, body care products as well as some over the counter medications – it contains heavy metals such as lead and mercury and a plethora of various chemicals. Doctor Ben Feingold, a renowned researcher, identified a link between food coloring and hyperactivity. He also noticed a marked increase in the ADD/ADHD classification after the mass introduction of artificial food colorings into our society. Artificial red food coloring is very toxic to the human body and to animals. (Some dog and cat foods contain artificial coloring) White: Bad for you White sugar – robs nutrition that is stored in your bones. It can suppress the immune system, can upset the body‟s mineral balance, may increase of coronary heart disease, can raise adrenaline levels in children, can speed the aging process, may contribute to weight gain and obesity, and much more. I suggest using raw sugar or raw honey in moderation. Enriched white flour in breads, buns, cookies, cakes – is being bleached by some mills with an agent, chloride oxide, which produces a toxin known to kill pancreatic cells, leading to diabetes. Use un-bromated unbleached flour instead. . Blue: Bad for you Artificial Blue and Blue Lake coloring in foods, candies, cake decorations, also in some shampoos, body care products and over the counter medications and in some dog and cat food - has the same toxic properties as listed above for artificial red food coloring. Bottom line- stay away from all products that contain artificial colors or dyes(including yellow #5). Watch the labels on all products and food, (especially Easter candy). Because artificial colors cause a myriad of diseases and disorders of the body and many children consume these colors in their food, I believe this is why

hospitals are full of sick children. And not only children, but adults as well. Parents, wake up! For your own sake as well as for your children‟s sake! (You can buy food and bath and body products without harmful artificial coloring at health food stores and some food chains.) Adventure Book with a Powerful Message!
We‟re proud to announce Jean‟s book „War of the Spirits: Knighthood of the Brethren‟ for ages 8-108. This book will help Believers realize the power they have within themselves, through the Holy Spirit, to be victorious against demons that they may encounter on a daily basis (such as depression, bitterness, pride, jealousy, etc.) And it just may make Believers out of non-believers. This book is not only a war story, but a love story. It shows the Lord‟s mercy, grace and unconditional love for even the worst of hardened criminals. His heart is to draw all people to Himself, so they may feel cherished and forgiven. War of the Spirits: Knighthood of the Brethren illustrates God‟s overwhelming love for all of mankind. War of the Spirits Companion workbooks for ages 10-14 and ages 15-adult, are also available. Individuals who donate to Still Waters International Ministries may receive a discount based on the number of books ordered. (To qualify for the discount, your order must be placed by calling 1-877-871-KIDS. Discount does not apply to orders placed through the website.) Schools, Youth leaders and Adult Bible Study groups qualify for more of a discount based on the number of books ordered. The majority of the proceeds from Jean‟s books and War of the Spirits products go to fund our ministry for underprivileged children. Visit our ministry website at www.stillwatersintl.com to view our entire “War of the Spirits” product line or to place an order or you may call 1877-871-KIDS for more information. The suggested donation amounts on our website include the cost of shipping and handling. NEW - Coming Soon: an intriguing sequel to the first book, „War of the Spirits: Knighthood of the Brethren.‟ It centers around a warrior princess with unusual gifts that she employs in battle. We welcome you to become Supporters of Still Waters International Ministries. It‟s especially crucial at this time to receive your prayers and financial support. A professor from Carnegie Mellon University is interested creating a video game based on our War of the Spirits book as a curriculum project. It is urgent that we raise $3500.00 as a down payment toward production costs and a federal trademark needed for the video game. Please pray about seeding whatever amount the Lord puts on your heart for this particular cause. It is time that we have wholesome video games offered

to young and old alike. It‟s so needed in these troubled times, amidst Dungeons and Dragons and Harry Potter games. You may send your donations to: S.W.I.M., P.O. Box 2096, Howell, MI 48844. All donations are tax deductible and would be very much appreciated.

What people are saying about ‘War of the Spirits’:
“I absolutely loved your book! It‟s so imaginative!” Anita, age 49 ********** “Your book was amazing! You should make it into a movie!” M.J. age 15 ********** “I gave your book to a couple of children in our children‟s ministry and they were so excited. They read your book and just loved it!” Pastor Maria. ********** “Your book is very well written. There‟s nothing out there like it – you have no competition!” Pastor Ed ********** “What I liked best about your book, Jean, was how you distinguished the work of the demons from the people they held captive. When the demons were vanquished, the people that were the victims were freed from their bondage and their full humanity was restored.” Sister Ioanna (Orthodox Order) ********** “Jean‟s book, „War of the Spirits: Knighthood of the Brethren‟, has changed my life. It made me keenly aware of the importance of putting on the full armor of God. This story has the makings of a great movie and could impact many lives, young and old alike.” Joseph Zabrosky – Author, producer, actor and screenplay writer. **********

“I just finished your book, „War of the Spirits: Knighthood of the Brethren‟. It has been my constant companion on several recent plane trips. I enjoyed the book very much and found it a good way to learn or be reminded of Scripture verses. You integrated the Word with the story in an engaging way that [made me want] to keep on reading. And the fact that you used teenaged kids to be the main characters should give the book a strong appeal across several different age groups. I do wish God‟s blessings on the important message you are giving us.” Dr. Alan Zimmerman, Author and motivational speaker. **********
