The Moorpark Chamber of Commerce is proud to host the 2009 Moorpark Community Awards luncheon that honors those individuals, organizations and businesses that make our community a better place to live and work. Inside you will find an invitation, sponsorship information, a nomination form as well as nomination requirements. We thank you in advance for your support and look forward to receiving your nomination.

Nominee Eligibility Requirements
Man of the Year The man of the year resides within the Moorpark area and goes above and beyond the call of duty. They exemplify the giving and community spirit and are pillars in the community. Woman of the Year The woman of the year resides within the Moorpark area and goes above and beyond the call of duty. They exemplify the giving and community spirit and are pillars in the community. Chamber Member of the Year The chamber member of the year has been an active chamber member for at least one year. They participate in chamber activities and events, demonstrate community spirit and have a desire to contribute to the success of the chamber. Entrepreneur of the Year This business person has started a viable, permitted business in Moorpark within the last 5 years. They are active in the community and the chamber and consistently demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit that encourages others to follow suit. Educator of the Year This person educates others in the Moorpark area. They consistently go beyond their job description to provide guidance, mentoring and instill a passion for children to excel in their futures. Youth of the Year The youth (age 21 or younger) of the year is a current resident of Moorpark. They are active in their school’s clubs and organizations and take the extra step to volunteer in the community. They are not permanently employed and have not yet graduated from college or trade school at the time of the ceremony. Senior of the Year The senior (age 55+) of the year is a current resident of Moorpark and is an active community participant. They consistently volunteer their time, effort and expertise in the community. Public Servant of the Year This person works within the Moorpark area for a public institution (e.g. Police, Fire, Recreation & Park, City, County, State, Federal, etc.) and are active in the community. They regularly go above and beyond the call of duty and their community spirit is exemplified through their volunteerism and community efforts. Volunteer of the Year The volunteer of the Year volunteers extensively in the Moorpark area, but may also take it one step further by volunteering in Ventura County. They tirelessly donate their time to clubs, organizations and the community at large in order to improve the overall community life. Non-Profit / Service Organization of the Year This Moorpark area organization (e.g. Moorpark College Foundation, Rotary, Kiwanis, Moorpark Women’s Fortnightly Club, etc.) is seen as setting the standard in the community for volunteerism and philanthropic efforts.

Your nomination should include the Nominee’s name, and daytime phone number (for notification purposes) and should also include basic information as the Nominee’s length of time in Moorpark, how long you have been acquainted and other background information you may have.
