President: The presidents' duties are to oversee our chapter and to lead us to become a better chapter. He/She appoints committees to achieve chapter goals and represents the chapter at special school events and other organizations. He/ She will coordinate chapter activities by keeping in close touch with the officers, members and the advisor. He/ She will keep the chapter working in a satisfactory manner by following up on progress being made on all activities and keeps officers on track during meetings/events. The president will call the meetings to order and reports directly to the advisor the proceedings and outcomes of each meeting. It shall be the responsibility of the President to work with local businesses to form industry contacts for classroom speakers, sales projects, community service projects, and the implementation of ideas to achieve higher morale throughout the chapter. Financial: The treasurer oversees the funds and receipts of our chapter’s budget. He/She shall also present the financial report/ status of the organization to each member on the Executive Council. He/She will present a quarterly and annual written report of the expenses/revenues of the chapter to manage budget planning. He/ She will also encourage all members to pay any dues or fees associated with the chapter and take an active role in collecting those fees. Video Reporter: He/She will make a cumulative video project representing the entire year of DECA activities. This video will include but is not limited to: DECA classroom activities, DECA volunteer activities (Read Across America, Briarwood Carnival), Fall Leadership Conference, Western Regional Leadership Conference, Area 4 Career Development Conference, State Career Development Conference, and the International Career Development Conference. The video will be professionally edited and will be completed shortly following ICDC. The video reporter will also collaborate with the media reporter on press releases and all other media activities. Media Reporter: The media reporter will be responsible for representing the Liberty DECA chapter primarily through photography. He/She will be accountable for attending majority of the conferences and competitions in order to provide picture memories of the events. These pictures will illustrate the many activities that our chapter attends and all photographs will be used for the following: a picture board, publicity scrapbook, and any promotional activities. The DECA scrapbook will include pictures from the entire school year and should be completed shortly after the International Career Development Conference (ICDC). Along with taking pictures, he/she will work with the video reporter for press releases and any other public relations events. Secretary/ Admin: It shall be the duty of the Secretary to call roll and to keep an accurate and authentic record of the proceedings of each meeting. The secretary will also assist the reporters with any news from public events. He/She will provide the President/Advisor with an agenda prior to each meeting and provide a record of the minutes following each meeting. He / She will also be sure to remind each member of the chapter pertaining to any events or notices that arise.
