TONY GLASS FOUNDER SCHOLARSHIP
The ECOBIA will again offer for the 13th consecutive year the “BIA Tony Glass Founder Scholarship”. One scholarship will be awarded this year in the amount of $500.00. Scholarship Rules 1. Applicant must be a member or have a relative who is a member of the BIA. If the applicant is not a member, relative is defined as an immediate family member. Applicant must be accepted at a college, university or trade technical school. (Student may be full or part-time.) The academic record, ACT or SAT results, extracurricular activities and an essay will be used by the committee to make the selection. Applicant must submit copies of his/her high school transcripts and any ACT or SAT results. Applicant must be in the upper 50% of his/her high school graduating class or, if applying as a college student, demonstrate to the satisfaction of the committee that he/she has achieved minimum post-secondary academic standards. The award is for one year and is renewable, however, the student must reapply. All applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2009: Sheldon Stutzman, Scholarship Chairman East Central Ohio Building Industry Association 7984 Dawn Road N E Mineral City OH 44656 8. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified by June 15, 2009. 9. The Board of Directors of the ECOBIA have absolute discretion in selecting recipients of the award and in determining the amount of said award. The Directors may make such amendments and modifications of the rules and regulations pertaining to the selection of award recipient, the payment as they, in their sole discretion, determine. 10. When an applicant has been named as the recipient of the award he/she shall, prior to August 1 in the year of the award, present the Director’s satisfactory evidence of his/her acceptance of continued enrollment at a college, university or trade technical school. Failure to do so will forfeit the scholarship. 11. The scholarship will be paid by check and made payable to the scholarship recipient.
