WHAT: Serious Motor Vehicle Crash
WHEN: November 18, 2008 at 1:57 P.M.
WHERE: Route 206 Approx. ¼ mile South of Raider Blvd.
WHO: Vehicle #1 Driver - James Bright, Somerset, N.J. age 28
Passenger - Delmar Taylor, New Brunswick, N.J. age 31
Vehicle #2 Driver - Rohan Hemmings, Yeadon, P.A. age 39
Vehicle #3 Driver - Dara Monsorno, Hillsborough, N.J. age 34
Vehicle #4 Driver - Frederick Pokrywka Jr., York, Pa age 52
HOW & WHY: On November 18, 2008 1:57 P.M. the Hillsborough Twp. Police
responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 206 approx. ¼ mile South of Raider
Blvd. Upon arrival driver #1 was found to be suffering serious injuries and was
subsequently transported via State Police Medevac helecoptor to Robert Wood
Johnson Medical Center for treatment and is listed in critical condition. Both the
passenger of vehicle #1 and the driver of vehicle #2 were also treated at the scene and
subsequently transported by the Hillsborough Rescue Squad to Somerset Medical
Center with minor injuries.
Preliminary investigation determined driver #1 was operating a Chevrolet Minivan
North on Route 206 when it drifted over the double yellow center lines striking vehicle
#2, an International Tractor Trailer, which was traveling South on Route 206. Vehicle’s
#3, a Honda Civic, and #4, a Chevrolet Impala, were traveling directly behind vehicle
#1 when the crash occurred and were struck by debris caused from the impact.
After the impact, vehicle #2 jackknifed and proceeded approx. 200 feet South before
striking an Embarq utility pole and several traffic signs before coming to a stop.
Vehicle #1 and #2 sustained significant damage.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hillsborough Twp Police Dept. as well
as the Somerset County Prosecutors Office C.A.R. Team. Route 206 was closed for
several hours while the crash was being investigated and anyone with information
