Utilize resources from the Online Safety Week web site. Be creative. Have fun while you educate. While the contest entry only requires a 250-word overview of your own in-school online safety week/day, we want to see pictures, video, etc. to bring it to life! Please don’t be late. Be sure that your submission will be received by AOL Canada in time. All submissions are due by Thursday, June 30, 2005. Check with your postal service representative to make sure the appropriate postage is included for a speedy delivery. Wait patiently. We will report back to all participating schools by Monday July 18, 2005 to notify you of the winner. The winner will be announced at the beginning of the next school year, along with a press release and photographers at the official presentation of the Toshiba computer lab.

Online Safety Week–“Win a Toshiba computer lab for your school!” CONTEST RULES & REGULATIONS
ELIGIBILITY: The AOL® “Win a Toshiba computer lab or your school” (the "Contest") begins at 8:30 AM EST on Monday, May 16, 2005 and ends at 4:59pm Thursday, June 30, 2005 (the "Contest Period"). The Contest is sponsored by AOL Canada Inc. ("AOL"), 55 St. Clair Avenue West, 7th Floor, Toronto, Ontario, M4V 2Y7 and Toshiba of Canada Ltd. [191 McNabb Street Markham, ON L3R 8H2] (collectively, the "Sponsors"). By entering the Contest, participants agree to be bound by the complete rules set forth herein (the "Official Rules"). The Contest is open to schools for grades 1-6 of Canada, excluding schools within the province of Quebec. The Contest must be submitted by an individual representing the school who is eighteen (18) years of age or older (i.e. educator, principal, etc.). Entrants must have fully completed the entry form and submission requirements (below). Employees, contractors, shareholders, officers, directors, agents, representatives and the immediate family members of Sponsors, their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies and promotional partners are ineligible to participate. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal and provincial laws and is void where prohibited by law. HOW TO ENTER: You may enter the Contest by: Filling out the entry form, which will include the name of your school, your name, address, phone number, email address. Download the entry form from www.aol.ca/onlinesafetyweek or contact us at safetyweekinfo@aol.com to request an entry form. All entrants will need to submit a 250-word overview of the online safety week activities that you have performed. Photos, videos and any other details that help to describe what was done are also accepted. These additional submissions may not be returned and may be used by Sponsors. Please be sure to describe why online safety is important, the tips that you taught and the audience. A skill-testing mathematical question must be answered by the award winning school or person who submitted the entry prior to receiving the prize. All entries must be received by AOL Canada no later than 4:59pm Thursday, June 30, 2005 (the “Contest Closing Date”). Submissions will be judged by unbiased representatives from the Sponsors. Judging will be based on creativity, level of involvement by the school, level of educational outreach involved and number of participants. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY By entering this Contest all entrants consent to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information (information that identifies them as an individual, for example, telephone number, name and address) by AOL for the purpose of publicizing, running and administering this Contest and awarding the Grand Prize. AOL will store personal information for approximately one year. AOL will not sell this Information to third parties and may transmit this information for the purpose of administering this Contest and awarding the Grand Prize. To access, the AOL privacy policy, call 1-888-AOL-HELP (265-4357). GRAND PRIZE The winner will be selected by a panel of representatives from the contest Sponsors. Only one winner will be selected. No cash or prize substitution is allowed except at the discretion of Sponsors. Sponsors reserves the right to substitute the grand prize with one of equal or greater value. The grand prize winner will receive Win 6 Toshiba Satellite M40X laptop computers (Details: M40X - PSM4XC-RS100E - CeleronM 370 (1.5GHz, Dothan 400MHz FSB), 15.4"WXGA w/ Trubrite, 512, 60GB 4200, DVD SuperMultiDL, Int. Graphics, NO CD Button, NO Int. Mic, NO IEEE1394, XP Home) NOTIFICATION AND CLAIM OF PRIZE The Grand Prize Winner will be selected from all eligible entries received by the Sponsors during the Contest Period. The Grand Prize will be notified on Monday July 18, 2005 and will be awarded before September 30, 2005 (following school year). The selected entrant will be notified by e-mail and/or telephone within two (2) business days of their selection, which e-mail notification will include the AOL form of Affidavit, License and Release. To qualify as a winner and claim the Grand Prize, the selected entrant must be i) have complied with the Official Rules (be eligible and complete, execute and return to AOL Canada Inc. the AOL form of Affidavit, License and Release Agreement). The selected entrant must contact AOL by return fax or e-mail within three (3) business days of notification to claim their prize. If the selected entrant does not comply with the Official Rules or does not respond within the required time, such selected entrant will be disqualified and an alternate entrant will be selected. Such alternate entrant will be notified by e-mail within two (2) business days of their selection, which e-mail will include the AOL form of Affidavit, License and Release. To qualify as a winner and claim the Grand Prize, the alternate entrant must be i) have complied with the Official Rules; i.e. be eligible, have correctly answered unaided the skill-testing mathematical question, and complete, execute and return to AOL Canada Inc. the AOL form of Affidavit, License and Release Agreement. The alternate entrant must contact AOL by return fax or e-mail within three (3) business days of notification to claim their prize. If the alternate entrant does not comply with the Official Rules or does not respond within the required time, such alternate entrant will be disqualified and a further alternate entrant will be selected, following the same process. Odds of winning are determined by the number of eligible entries received. Prize notifications returned as undeliverable as addressed, or the failure of the selected entrant to comply with the Official Rules, prove eligibility or claim the prize, will result in an alternative entrant being selected. In the event no selected entrant or alternate selected entrant is able to accept the Grand Prize the Sponsorss reserves the right to use or dispose of the Grand Prize as they in their discretion see fit. Prizes are non-transferable. MISCELLANEOUS Decisions of Sponsors shall be final in all matters relating to this Contest. Sponsors are not in any way liable for damage, loss or injury resulting from computer malfunctions, misdirected or incomplete entries or acceptance and use of the prize. All entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, each Winner shall grant to Sponsors a non-exclusive irrevocable license and right to broadcast, publish and disseminate or otherwise use or reproduce the winning school or individual’s photograph, voice, name, likeness, submission and addresses (city and province only) (the "Materials") in whole or in part and in connection with the advertising, exhibiting, marketing, promotion and exploitation of the business of the Sponsors in any manner, in all media throughout the world at no compensation to the Winner. Winner shall also agree that Sponsors be entitled to edit, alter, modify, rearrange, add material to, remove material from or make such other changes to the Materials as the Sponsors deems appropriate in its sole discretion. Participants assume all liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this Contest, or the use or misuse of any prizes granted herein. The Sponsors reserves the right to cancel, amend or suspend this Contest at any time and without prior notice should virus, bugs, computer, electronic, system malfunction, or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsors corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Contest. Scheduling of the Contest may be modified at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sponsors assumes no responsibility whatsoever for any incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, interruption, deletion, failure, negligence or any other error, omission, delay or defect, including any problems or technical malfunction of any telecommunication networks or links, computer systems, servers, providers, computer equipment or software that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest. Any litigation brought by a resident or school from the providence of Quebec or an entrant originating its entry in Quebec respecting the conduct or organization of this contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcoos, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties read a settlement. With respect to all other participants, this Contest is subject to applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a Winner based on such Winner's e-mail address, the prize will be awarded to the registered account holder (based on the registration data of AOL Canada Inc.) of the e-mail address used for the purpose of such entry. Any attempt by anyone to deliberately damage this web site or undermine the lawful operation of this Contest is a violation under criminal and civil laws. Should any such attempt be made, the Sponsors reserves the right to seek damages or other remedies from any such person(s) responsible for such attempt to the fullest extent permitted by law. Taxes, and additional shipping, handling and delivery fees in excess of the prize amount, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Any litigation respecting this Contest must be commenced in the Province of Ontario, Canada.
