you as a teacher do in a day. Visit a website on showing
students a timeline on what they do on a “common” day.

day. Have them talk about what they did to train or
prepare to get their current job. Also, have them talk
about good or bad past work related experiences and
                     what it taught them.
Activity Devise a plan for students to meet with one professional Resource #2
in the school to ask the questions listed on the
worksheet. Go over the worksheet that the students use
when interviewing another working professional in the
school. Explain to the students that the worksheet is
                     used to complete the summary.

Discuss with the individual why they choose their job
and why they didn’t like some of the other jobs that they
                     considered.

Explain to the students the definition of an education
and training plan. Describe your education and training
plan and why it was so important to you in entering your
                     career.

Ask them if they recently went on a camping trip. Ask
if it was important to plan and if there were any
situations that were unpleasant because their parents or
they did not plan. Tie this example to the importance of
having an education and training plan.

Also, explain to them that they will take a picture of the
shoes of the person they interview. Explain that the
picture will be used for a bulletin board display.

                     summary.

Explain that the summary, along with the shoes picture
will be used for a bulletin board. The title of the display
                     is: “Whose shoes are these?”

Collect the summaries and grade them with the rubric.
                     Return them to the students.

a career. Go over how people prepare for different
careers. Explain how not all people will go to a four
