Royal Air Force Careers to support Resorts
‘Chase the Pudding’

One of this years big Christmas events in Weymouth is the fabulous ‘Chase the Pudding’
taking place on Weymouth Beach at 11 am on Sunday 21 December. This festive treat
has now received considerable financial support from the Royal Air Force Careers Service.

The RAF already has developed a strong presence in Weymouth as they host the RAF
Town Show in August, support of Weymouth Carnival, the hugely successful Weymouth
Beach Sports Festival and the Weymouth Beach Volleyball Classic.

Chase the Pudding organiser Mark Steen said
‘This is brilliant news for the event now which is now in its second year and with the
support of the RAF this will allow us to significantly increase the overall event and
get everybody in Santa outfits and raise extra money for charity’.

RAF Area Cdr SW, Sqn Ldr Andy Walker said
‘We are delighted to have the opportunity to support this great festive event in
Weymouth. Naturally sports based events represent those values which we in the
RAF hold in high regard, such as team work, fitness and camaraderie. It is our
fortune to have the chance to support this event and on behalf of the RAF Careers
Information Service, I wish all participants a great festive experience’.

The Chase the Pudding 5K Santa Fun Run along Weymouth Beach is all for a good
cause, Childrens Hospice Julia’ House. Outfits are available from the event organisers
Bustinskin.com and all money taken from the suits will go towards the charity fund as well.

Registration for the race will take place at Weymouth Fire Station from 9 am on the
morning of the 21st and then they will make there way through the town at 10 am.

The ‘Pudding’ will give a quick warm up 10.45 am and the race will start at 11 am.
Participants will receive free tea and coffee after the event at the Dorothy Inn on the
Seafront and a Christmas Pudding donated by ASDA. Entry fee is £10.00 in advance or
£12 on the day (under 10’s can run free with a family member).

The pace will be set by a runner dressed as a Christmas Pudding. Hundreds of Santas
chasing a Christmas pudding along the beach should make quite a sight.
