                Glynn County Board of     Mark your calendars!  On May 15 at 4pm, our partnership will

                                          academy in Georgia that:
                           
                                          - is located south of metro Atlanta
                 Seamless Education
                    Consultants           - is supported by two local taxes: a County SPLOST ($6
                                          million) and a Board of Education E-SPLOST ($5 million), both
                                          of which were approved by local voters
                 Central Educational      - will sit on land donated by a Development Authority
                       Center
                                          - will be built using bonds issued by a Development Authority
                                          in partnership with a county Board of Commissioners and
                                          Board of Education
                Georgia Department of
                  Education Charter       - results from two years of community planning funded
                   Schools Division       through a Georgia non-profit (Golden Isles Technical and
                                          Career Learning, Inc.) created for the specific purpose of
                                          supporting the school planning effort, which to date has
                                          received $327,375 in mostly private funds
                                          - has a Steering Committee that includes not only K-12,
                                          college and business, but also city and county governments
                                          and our local Communities in Schools chapter
            E-SPLOST Approved!
                                          - will complete all planning, curriculum development, and
                                          construction in less than three years (December 2005 -
                                          August 2008)
            On March 20, Glynn County
            voters made history by

                                          Charter Authoring Subcommittee and three separate
                                          meetings with the Board of Education (one meeting with a
                                          Board of Education committee, and two workshops for the
                                          full Board of Education with the charter as the only agenda
                                          item).  The Steering Committee thanks the Board, the
                                          College and all others who contributed to our deliberations
                                          to prepare Glynn County's charter for review and approval by
                                          the local and state boards of education.
