Irregular Capitalization As seen in Sonnet II line 17, Shelley capitalizes Heaven and Ocean in order to personify them and draw attention to them because they are important. Again in Sonnet IV line 49 he personifies Heaven. Furthermore, Shelley personifies the word Spirit in Sonnet V line 61. Finally, in Sonnet V line 69 he capitalizes Wind. Shelley capitalizes these words that deal with the different elements of nature to show that they are important. Dramatization The entire poem is large scale. It talks about many elements of nature such as Wind, Air, Sea, and Spirit. While the poem is an expression of the feelings of power Shelley gets from being a public poet, he dramatizes himself as well, as seen in line 54: “I fall upon the thorns of life! I bleed!” Imagery
