LIBERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Biological, Physical Sciences and Mathematical Thinking satisfied by major requirements Historical Perspective (at least 3 credits) History and Social Sciences – at least 6 credits in the social Social Sciences sciences Social Sciences Arts and Humanities – at least 6 Literature credits in the arts and humanities Other Humanities with one course from each group Citizenship and Public Ethics Cultural Diversity Designated Themes – At least 3 credits in each area Environment International Perspectives

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS:
Math and Physical Sciences or  Math 1281 and Math 1282 (preferred) Statistics Stat 3021 OR Stat 3011  Chem 1021  General Chemistry Chem 1022  Chem 2301  Organic Chemistry Chem 2302 OR EEB 4611 (offered every other  spring only) Phys 1201W and Phys 1202W Physics: choose one track or  Phys 1301W and Phys 1302W *Students who have declared the EEB major prior to Spring 2004 have the option to finish either the old or the new EEB requirements Calculus: Choose one track Math 1271 and Math 1272

GENERAL AND ORGANISMAL BIOLOGY: Choose Track 1 (preferred) or Track 2 TRACK 1: General Biology Biol 1001 and Biol 1002W  Plus two of the following: Animal Biology Biol 3211 and 2005; or 2012 or 2812  Plant Biology Biol 3002 and 3005W; or 3007W or 2022  Microbiology MicB 3301 or Biol/VBS 2032  OR TRACK 2: General Biology Biol 1009  Plus three of the following: Animal Biology Biol 3211 and 2005; or 2012  Plant Biology Biol 3002 and 3005W; or 3007W or 2022  Microbiology MicB 3301 or Biol/VBS 2032  BIOLOGY CORE: Biochemistry BioC 3021 or BioC 4331  Genetics Biol 4003  Plus two of the following:  Ecology Biol 3407  Evolution Biol 3409  Animal Behavior Biol 3411  UPPER DIVISION MAJOR ELECTIVES 13 additional 3xxx – 5xxx credits in the biological and/or physical sciences including (courses listed below may not be used to satisfy other major requirements): Area 1: A Biology field or lab experience Area 2: At least 7 credits of upper division EEB coursework Area 3: Additional upper division credits in the biological or physical sciences to total 13 credits for the EEB Major
Complete 4 credits of upper division x8xx coursework at the Lake Itasca Biological Station or 4 credits of Directed Research (EEB 4994/4794W) or an approved substitution. Substitutions must be arranged in advance. See next page for a list of course options
