Job Objective:

A logistics officer is responsible for processes having to do specifically with smooth running of the
office(s) and through the sales and procurement department liaises with a variety of parties, including
suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and, increasingly, consumers.

Logistics officer co-ordinate processes to ensure customer satisfaction. An awareness of and strategic
response to external influences, such as legislation, is vital.

The role of logistics officer also involves transportation, stock control, warehousing, and ensuring
structures are in place to monitor the flow of goods and materials.

IT plays a key part within the logistics field in forecasting increasingly complex systems of stock levels,
delivery times, transport costs and performance evaluation.

Specific Tasks:

A range of business tasks is undertaken to support the smooth and efficient operation of supply chain
processes and typical work activities usually include:

    •   monitoring the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods;
    •   co-ordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems;
    •   analyzing data to monitor performance and plan improvements;
    •   allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs;
    •   liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers;
    •   developing business by gaining new contracts, analyzing logistical problems and producing new
        solutions.

When managing warehouse or transport staff, the role may also include:

    •   implementing health and safety procedures;
    •   managing staff training issues;
    •   motivating other members of the team;
    •   project management;
    •   setting objectives.

Job Specifications:

    •   4-5 years of experience in Logistics/Warehouse development activities.
    •   Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
    •   Must have the ability to open doors and establish new relationships.
    •   Must be motivated by challenge, personal development and money!
    •   Excellent command of English it is required.
