LPA 4th Annual Product Manager’s Breakfast
January 30, 2008 (Alexandria, VA) – The Laboratory Products Association (LPA) will hold its Fourth
Annual Product Manager’s Breakfast on March 4 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans
Louisiana. Jim Smith, a long time veteran of the lab products industry who presented at the 2006
Product Manager’s Breakfast, returns to deliver another timely and cutting edge program for Product
Smith’s program, The EDGE of Product Management – Concepts That Challenge The Status Quo,
will explore the basic principles of product marketing but focus on the changes necessary to exemplify
leadership for your company/products in this ever changing competitive marketplace. The overall
objective is for Product Managers to push concepts to the edge in order to maximize global
opportunities and exceeding the expectations of customers, company, and stakeholders.
Smith’s presentation will also explore the concepts of product management as it relates to running a
business from the perspective of a CEO. It is imperative that Product Managers focus on the four P’s
of marketing while concentrating on growth and profitability from a global perspective. In the end this
program will challenge Product Managers to make the necessary changes to move performance and
productivity from good to GREAT.
These concepts presented by Jim Smith resulted in his former company winning six (6) awards from a
Major Distributor at a recent Global Sales and Marketing event.
The breakfast is part of a series of networking events for LPA members and guests. This particular
event is set up to acquaint Product Managers of LPA members companies with the products and
benefits of the association and to promote the value of the LPA network among the members.
The breakfast begins at 7:30AM on Tuesday, March 4 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
