A.) What is verification? 1. Verification is the act of proving or disproving the correctness of a system with respect to a certain formal specification 2. Identification - present what the user has (e.g. smart card)

Identification - present what the user is (e.g. pin number) B.) Methods of verification 1. There are two methods, commonly used in verification, which are user identification and processed object. 2. User identification refers to the process of validating the user. 3. Processed object refers to something the user has such as identification card, security token and cell phone. C.) User identification 1. The example of validating process using the user identification are: a) Key in the user name to log-in to a system and the system will verify whether the user is valid or invalid user. b) Show exam slip to verify that you are the valid candidate for the exam. c) Show a passport before departure. D.) Processed object 1. The examples of validating process using the processed object are: a.) The policeman will check on the driver’s license to identify the valid driver. b.) Employees have to swipe their security card to enter the building c.) Buy blouses at the mall using a credit card
