It is a great tool to use in several ways, but I think it is really best used for just one purpose that accomplishes many things: make connections with people and deepen those connections. You can absolutely use twitter to market, but don’t market directly. Join the conversation, give your opinions, ask for help or advice, answer questions, and point to interesting resources (including some of your own). The concept here I think of as “lifestyle marketing”. You enter in with your knowledge, personality, and resources, and contribute to the conversation. You can refer products or services that you profit from, but do it as a friend, not as a salesman. Profile Secrets Your profile doesn’t have to be a bio, make it short and catchy, but also make sure it contains any keywords you’d want to be found for, related to anything you’ll be promoting if you are going to “market” at all. You don’t have to link to your homepage or blog. Make it a “landing page” for Twitter that you link to, that will encourage people to follow you. Use either a eye-catching logo or design for your profile picture, or better yet, upload a close up picture of you (the picture will be small.)

Note that text may be covered depending on where it is at, one way to avoid that is to have it run vertically on the left side. Later, log into your account to track how many clicks your link got. Auto-tweet ezinearticles Enter your Twitter username in your profile at www.ezinearticles.com. When an article is accepted and published, a link to the article along with the title will be auto-tweeted for you!
