Visitors to interzum once again get the opportunity to experience visionary
technologies and innovative design for fittings and surfaces, wood-based
materials and veneers, leather, upholstery and upholstery machines.
Snapshot of trends Page

This year, too, interzum is again providing the industry with an overview of the
global trends:

   • The lightweight construction board is coming. Joining and fastening
systems are ready for the market, thus leading to the expectation of a
significant increase in the use of lightweight honeycomb sandwich
board and furniture produced from this. Lightweight furniture is sturdy,
resource-conserving and easy to transport. Added to this, it is totally in
       fashion with its chunky appearance.

   • More and more materials are suitable for printing on. Be it wood-based
panels, mineral-based panels or glass surfaces, the specialists have
succeeded in developing printing techniques that can are also suitable
for very small production runs. The trend towards individualisation in
our society increases the need for variety. Thus, you can expect to see
individual cupboard surfaces sporting a favourite motif or wall panelling
       bearing a company logo.

   • On a more general note, particular attention is being paid in all supplier
sectors of the furniture industry to resource conservation and
sustainability. The target group interested in ecology is growing. The
arrival of the energy-saving LED lamp in the interior design and
furniture industry is entirely in keeping with this.

   • The interzum exhibitors are presenting their visions for the furniture of
tomorrow and beyond. Electric motors constitute an important element
in this regard. Be this in the form of a motor used for opening drawers
or a motor used in adjustable upholstered furniture, all developments
promise enhanced convenience and comfort for end customers.
