After reading a novel on or slightly above your reading level, you will construct a book
report that sizzles with excitement! Right now, you are responsible for getting a book and
reading! But soon, you’ll be given all of the supplies needed to complete your report.

I’ve provided a checklist for you to use. You will put it together in the following way:

___ Top bun (light brown circle): title of the book and the author’s name
___ Cheese (yellow square): setting (be descriptive)
___ Tomato: (red circle): characters (list)
___ Burger: (dark brown circle): the “meat” (plot) of the story (use complete sentences)
___ Special sauce: (orange irregular shape): cause/effect situation (use complete
sentences)
___ Lettuce: (green irregular shape): favorite part of the book (use complete sentences)
___ Bottom bun: (light brown circle): opinion of the book (use complete sentences)
___ *Please put your name on the back of the bottom bun.

___ Neatly label the parts in order, staple only a few times at one end to keep it together.
(The top bun with the title and author written, facing on top.)
___ Please write as neatly as possible, or type. Check and recheck to make sure all
words are spelled correctly. Also use capital letters where necessary. Do not staple it
together until you’ve made sure each part of your burger is done!
___ Use ink or marker, no pencil! Give this 110% effort & it will sizzle!
