                                Main HW Changes
   20 dual Opteron 2,2Ghz installed
        1/3 for GRIF T2
   6TB installed, 9TB on order
        ½ for GRIF T2
                2 Linux machines connected to SAN (QL2340)
                Single attachment, plan to look for path failover later
                SRM based SE using LCG DPM (2 disk servers)
        SATA extension to HDS 9570V
                Acceptable cost : 12 k€ for 4,5 TB (Raid5)
                Very easy and flexible integration in current LAL
                 infrastructure

                                       OS Updates

   Scientific Linux everywhere (3.0.5)
        Currently installed on all new machines (i386 or
         amd64, 32 bits)
        Upgrade of RH 7.2/9 machines (25) by the end of year
                Will be done with Quattor (fresh installation)
   Deploying LCG UI on all LAL physics servers (20)
        Done with Quattor : easy to install and maintain
        VOMS with local VOs for non LHC users

   In production for GRID and non GRID machines
        Easy and flexible sharing of configuration information,
         removing duplication
        Upgrade SL 3.0.4  3.0.5 done with Quattor
        Currently reinstalling all pre-Quattor machines
        Original CDB not used, replaced by SVN + http
   Starting multi-sites usage for GRIF
        1 day Quattor tutorial held Sept. 30th
        DAPNIA : ½ day to setup specific configuration and
         install 2 test nodes
                Common configuration database, 1 Quattor server/node

   Tools for project management integrating
        A WiKi (based on MoinMoin) : http://projects.edgewall.com/trac
        An issue tracker (trouble ticket system)
                Ticket submission through Web or email
        A roadmap manager based on milestones
        A SVN browser
        Very clean plug-in API (0.9+) : all main features are plug-ins
                Same model as Eclipse : Trac core is just a plug-in manager
   Cross reference between all types of information
   Very attractive when you need documentation + action
    follow-up

                               Collaborative Tools :
                                     Agenda
   At the very beginning
        LAL director wants to publish its agenda…
   Web-based agenda sharing
        Currently using phpICalendar
        WebDAV upload/download of ICS files
                Compatible with a lot of clients : Mac, Sunbird, Mulberry…
                Interoperable with CERN CDS Agenda and (InDiCo)
                Difficult sharing between multiple writers (file granularity)

                   Windows Infrastructure
   IN2P3 forest still very successfull
        12 labs in production
        Move of LAL AD domain to IN2P3 forest still delayed :
         lack of manpower
        Running well, management cost very low…
   New machines installed with WXP SP2
        No migration plan for WXP SP1
        Can be done on demand with SMS
   Antivirus : successful move to McAfee
        + : MSI deployment
