 Big Read Essay Contest:
Throughout The Great Gatsby, title character Jay Gatbsy struggles to
achieve the American Dream and find happiness with little success.
Write an essay of 250-500 words describing your American Dream
and how you think it would change your life if you achieved it.
Open to students ages 13-19.

Return your essay to your favorite library or mail it to the

by Friday, November 6, 2009. Winners will be announced on Friday, November
13, at the “Gusto at the Gallery.” The top three winning essays will be printed in
the Buffalo News NEXT and receive a Gift Card to Barnes and Nobles!
