Most people do not agree on issues dealing with moral ways of thinking.

Lawrence Kohlberg, a researcher of moral reasoning, studied and defined it on three

levels; each level having a stage (and there are six stages in all). Stages two and three are

the most easy to agree with because children try to get their parents approval all the time.

Also, most people try to do the right things so society will not look down upon them and

for their own sakes as well, as Kohlberg suggest. His ideas on moral reasoning are good

ideas that describe people’s reason of action on such an understandable level.

In Kohlberg’s Conventional Level, stage 3 is explained whereas, “Good behavior

is that which pleases or helps and is approved by others.” (Kohlberg, 427) Children look

for their parents and teachers approval and right behavior helps them to get it.
