This talk encompasses steps, methods and project management employed in setting up an Inspection Management System for a typical offshore facility. The discussions include specification & design of corrosion monitoring system, baseline inspection of pressure systems and structures, organization of data and documentation for continued operations, and set up of computerized inspection management system (CIMS). Talisman Malaysia Limited’s Northern Field asset, which includes a Central Processing Offshore Platform (CPP) and 3 wellhead platforms, are used as a case study to demonstrate the application of proactive Asset Integrity Management System.
BIODATA OF SPEAKERS
Chartered Engineer with over 8 years of international work experience in the field of Oil and Gas Facilities Integrity Management. Attained Engineering Masters and Degree qualifications from UK (Scottish) Universities. Familiar with Integrity Management Systems applicable to onshore and subsea pipeline, topside and susbea structure, remote subsea equipment, pressure relieving devices, topside static mechanical equipment and piping, lifting and safety equipment. Experienced in delivering integrity services to numerous international O&G operator, in world class projects, namely BP-Azerbaijan Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline, Conoco Philips Indonesia Kerisi Project, Talisman Malaysia Northern Fields Development. Worked in various environment (offshore, office base & fabrication yard) and culture (Eastern Europe, Western Europe & Asia). Talisman Malaysia Limited Seconded to iicorr Asia KL from iicorr Ltd, Scotland in February 2005 to assist in the growth of regional integrity business is currently seconded to Talisman Malaysia, responsible for setting up an Inspection Management System for Northern Field Central Processing Platform (BOA), and 3 Wellhead Riser Platforms (BOB, BOC, & BOD). Directly responsible for updating inspection procedure, training inspector, coordinating yard baseline inspection, setting up Computerised Inspection Management System (CIMS), supervising corrosion circuit study and Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) documentation compilation. Prior to Northern Fields project, similar work was performed for Talisman’s BTA, SAA, BRE and various upgrade facilities. Aberdeen Based in the UK prior to February, 2005. Carried out numerous RBI project, corrosion study and inspection scheduling and workscoping for O&G operators in the North Sea, and Worldwide. The RBI projects carried out covered all offshore and onshore equipment subject to inspection. Notable experience during this period consisted of: execution of industrial research and integrity review, development of RBI methodology, project management, and support to North Sea operators in meeting inspection ‘Best Practices’ and compliance to UK HSE rules and regulations.
