Check your gas appliances daily for flame regulator and leaks. Report to Chef any problems with the stove no matter electrical or gas. When flaming do not pour alcohol directly from the bottle as the bottle may catch fire and explode in your face. Systematically check the buffet burners. They all must have a cover/lid. ENSURE that you Always have a fire extinguisher per buffet line as well as one for each gas cooking station. Always use Helium gas to inflate balloons …nothing else.

LAUNDRY - Ensure that all irons are in good condition and have a resting-place

Fire Manual Introduction
Fire Procedures/Equipment Introduction: ………Resort & Spa is equipped with modern fire detection technology consisting of  Smoke/heat detectors in every guestroom and in all public spaces. (with the exception of our restaurants)

Oriental Hospitality Consultants – OrientalHospitality.com



The smoke detectors as well as the Fire pull station (break glass panel system) are linked to two modern alarm consoles located at the Security office as well as at the telephone operator. Security office and Telephone operators are linked by an interphone.

Fire alarm: Whenever the sensor of a smoke/heat detector and/or a Fire pull station are activated an alarm starts ringing at both Security office and Telephone operator indicating visually where it comes from. Main Fire Control Room: The main fire control room is the Telephone Operator room. Second Fire Control Room: The second Fire control room is the Security office. Note that the second Fire control room is more detailed. Fire Bell: The Fire Bell is a loud bell, activated by a Fire Pull Station, that indicates that a fire has been discovered in the building. It is a serious warning since it indicates that no one responded to the alarm or that the alarm is not over. The bell starts ringing 3 minutes after the control panel alarm does. Fire Bells are divided in 3 different sections 1) Ground (basement) and Lobby floors 2) South wing 3) North wing Unless we are facing a general blaze, only the bells in the section where the alarm comes from will ring.

The continuous ring of the Bell means total evacuation of the section concerned. Please do not be confused between Alarm = Fire Control Room Panel and Bell = entire building.

Normal sequences of an alarm #1 Or Smoke detector Heat detector alarm is activated Fire Pull Station in both Fire control rooms IF NO REACTION BY FIRE COMMAND #2 Fire bell in the section concerned  will start ringing non stop When the bell rings general evacuation to the hotel car park unless specified otherwise
