EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
It is with pleasure that we introduce the Karratha Kart Club to current and future
members and the general community.
The Karratha Kart Club has, along with the Karratha community, enjoyed times of
growth and development along with those of lesser membership and challenge.
At all stages of the club s life, the one enduring factor has been the love of this great
family sport which encourages sportsmanship and fair play among people of all ages.
We are now entering another stage of growth and vision for the future of the Club. With
this, we have developed our strategic plan in the hope that future members will be able to
carry and develop our current ideas and plans while adding their own.

Parent Organisation :
Karratha Kart Club operates under the auspices of the National and State bodies
Australian Karting Association (AKA national) and Western Australian Karting
Association (WAKA - State).
It is through our parent organization(s) that we receive the regulations which
govern the way our sport is operated. Karratha Kart Club, to continue to operate
as a licensed track, must conduct itself in such a way as to not breach the rules
and regulations set down by that parent organization. This includes regular track
inspections to ensure that the safety and standards of our club are being
maintained.
It is also through our parent organization that all liability insurances for drivers,
club members and spectators are maintained. Payment for liability insurance is
through licenses to drive a kart.
Operational Philosophy:
The Karratha Kart Club, under the auspices of our parent organization(s) operates
under the following guidelines:
To promote and protect the sport of Kart racing
To promote excellence and just and honourable practices in the sport and
to suppress malpractice
To promote and organise Kart meetings and other functions for members
To do all such acts which, in the opinion of the Association are for the
general benefit of members or of Karting.
Target Markets:
Our target market is the community as a whole. Under AKA guidelines, persons
with special needs are able to race alongside those without a disability after
certain conditions have been met. Persons over the age of 50 years may be
subject to a medical examination prior to the granting of a license to race.
Children are not granted a license until they turn 7 years of age, although they are
able to become club members and utilise the kart track outside race meetings.
Particular attention is paid to the targeting of young people and their families.
This is to encourage continuing growth within the sport.

ADMINISTRATION
Season:
Karratha Kart Club s racing seasons is as follows :
January thru December 14 15 club events held
Summer : Racing commences at 7.00pm(due to
climatic conditions, this start time
comprises approximately 75% of our
meetings)
Winter: Racing commencing at 3.00pm
Open Meetings: Karratha is host to the
Northern Championships
once per year. The Northern
Championships comprise 5
meetings in total throughout
the season. Other competing
clubs are Tom Price,
Newman, Port Hedland and
Exmouth. These meetings
are not closed to Pilbara
towns only however and we
have had competitors from
clubs outside our region join
the racing on several
occasions.
Public Events: 2 3 Events per year in the
form of Have a Go Days
and Corporate Events.
All the above events are to be submitted to the WAKA for approval prior to the
start of the season. It is preferred that events being held by different clubs to not
interfere with each other to ensure opportunities are available for drivers to attend
other host meetings held both Statewide and on a national level.
