West Dorset Care & Repair is a local authority based Home Improvement
Agency which was set up by West Dorset District Council in 1994 to
provide advice and support to help elderly or disabled people improve,
repair and adapt their homes, helping them to live in greater comfort and
security and to maintain their independence.

We are able to:

   Visit you in your own home and listen to your needs
   Carry out a financial assessment to maximise your income and provide
   advice about both income related and disability benefits
   Identify repairs, improvements and adaptations that may be required
   Contact other services or organisations that may also be able to assist
   you
   Identify sources of funding to pay for the cost of works through
   grants, loans, charitable sources or private savings
   Provide plans, specifications and obtain statutory approvals
   Obtain competitive estimates from reliable contractors
   Supervise and liase with contractors to ensure work is carried out
   satisfactorily
   Provide housing options
