Alternative Service Providers for Devon Schools

INTRODUCTION
The services as presented in this document have undergone a rigorous tendering process by Devon County Council. If you wish to use any of these services, please contact the named person directly using the contact details provided. The County Council has entered into a formal legal agreement with each company but the contract will be between the school and service provider. A template of an acceptable contract is provided for your convenience and can be downloaded from the directorate's web pages: http://www4.devon.gov.uk/eal/procure/ You should be aware that unlike an agreement with one of Devon's in-house service providers (Service Level Agreement) the signing of a contract is legally binding on both parties. These contracts are for a maximum of three years and you can make a 'purchase' for one to three years.

Quality Assurance
Although financial and operational checks were made as part of the formal evaluation process, we will annually review each of these contractors to ensure their compliance with our standards.

Caretaking and Cleaning

Harrison Cowley’s daily rate of £550 is based on a seven-hour working day and assumes that a blend of experience from senior to junior will be used in the course of our work. We are happy to suggest ways in which a number of schools can work together to save on costs, for example it may be appropriate for schools’ spokespeople to share media training days or a media monitoring and press cuttings service. All fees are subject to an administration levy to cover administrators' time and office costs of 7.5%. This will also cover expenses such as postage; telephones; faxing, and photocopying.
