							Key and turn cylinder range

UNION Architectural Hardware launches a brand new range of cylinder thumb turns. In addition to the new turns, the UNION cylinder range will now include construction keying, clutch release and classroom functionality. More aesthetically pleasing and easier to use, the new designs bring a fresh modern look to the trusted and established UNION cylinder range. All designs are available in euro and oval profile, and both single and double cylinder types.

Features

| New Cylinder Functions
In addition to the new turns, the UNION cylinder range will now also include the options of construction keying, clutch release and classroom functionality.

What is a Construction Key Cylinder?
A construction key cylinder is typically used on building sites, where employees need access to the building during construction, but should not have access when the home owner has moved in. The first operation of the home owner’s key will permanently disable the builder’s key.

What is a Clutch Release Cylinder?
A clutch release thumb turn cylinder is designed to prevent somebody on the inside of the door from holding the turn and locking key holders out. Insertion of the key disengages the clutch, which allows the turn to rotate freely without engaging the cam.

What is Classroom Functionality?
The classroom function in a thumb turn cylinder makes it possible to rotate the thumb turn in one direction only i.e. clockwise only or anti-clockwise only. This is usually used to ensure that someone inside a room cannot lock anybody out but can always escape in an emergency. The cylinder is also clutch release as standard so somebody in the room cannot prevent a key holder from entering.
