Explanation of The Executive Board
Each class is considered to be its own executive board. The purpose of the Executive Board is to plan and organize group community service, as well as other class and school wide activities. Each class is required to plan and organize a minimum of 5 Group Community Service projects/activities for the year. Students may use the Group Community Service as part of the required 15 hours for each quarter. The Executive Board has three elected officers that help govern the board. Each member of the board gets a vote. The officers’ vote does not count any more than that of any other Board member. The Executive Board Officer positions include: Executive Board Chairperson – The role of the Executive Board Chairperson is to set the agenda of each Board meeting. The Board will meet during class once a week. The Chairperson will preside and keep order over each meeting. The Chairperson will also appoint members of the Board to subcommittees and special committees throughout the year. And finally, the Chairperson will oversee all plans and activities of the Board and will make sure it is functioning smoothly. Executive Board Vice Chairperson – The role of the Executive Board Vice Chairperson is to assist the Chairperson in all of the duties and responsibilities given the Chairperson. The Vice Chairperson will substitute or take over for the Chairperson in his/her absence. The Vice Chairperson will also take on any special duties and assignments given him/her by the Chairperson. Executive Board Secretary – The Executive Board Secretary is responsible for recording the minutes of each Executive Board meeting. The Secretary will also read the minutes at each meeting. It is the job of the Secretary to maintain all records pertinent to the operations of the Executive Board, its plans, its goals, and its business contacts.
