Consultation for pathway lighting at Elsternwick Park
Bayside City Council would like to consult with the community on the need for pathway lighting in Elsternwick Park south of Bent Avenue. As part of this process, an information bulletin and survey for residents have been produced. Copies are available on Council's website at www.bayside.vic.gov.au/have_your_say or at all Bayside library branches and the Corporate Centre at 76 Royal Avenue in Sandringham. Interested people are invited to complete the survey and return it to Council no later than 31 August 2007. Learning to ride in Bayside
Through the Bayside Bicycle Strategy, Council has funded 19 primary school staff to attend a two-day 'Bike Ed' course. The course is being conducted at Sandringham East Primary School on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 August. On completion of the course, the staff will then be qualified to teach 'Bike Ed', which is usually aimed at students in grades four and five. The 'Bike Ed' course aims to teach cycling skills and promote cycle safety and teachers will learn how to conduct a road worthy check of the students' bikes and helmets. Other skills gained will enable teachers to assist students develop their skills in balancing, slow riding, straight riding, driveway ride-outs, traffic lights, roundabouts, slalom and u-turns. Calling for artists for ARTrium 2008
Bayside City Council is seeking applications from local artists and cultural groups for the 2008 ARTrium Exhibition Program. ARTrium, located in the busy foyer of Council's Corporate Centre at Sandringham, provides a low cost, accessible exhibition space for emerging local artists to mount a professional exhibition. It is also designed to showcase Bayside City Council's cultural and art collections, and make them accessible to the public. Sandringham Community Family FUNdraiser Day
The Sandringham Community Family FUNdraiser Day on the Sandringham foreshore (near the rotunda) is on Sunday 9 September 2007 from 2pm until 5pm. Join the Sandringham Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank to help raise money for the Southern Community Hydro Pool Project. Grab a sausage from the Rotary BBQ trailer, see the Sandringham Secondary College 'Out & About' contemporary music performance, join in kids games, and try your luck in one of the many raffles.
