What is Color?

Color IS Not Color, Color IS Light

The sun is the source of light. This light

reaches our eyes in the form of rays and

these rays are composed of waves that

vibrate at different speeds.

Color IS Not Color, Color IS Light

Color IS Not Color, Color IS Light

Some of the waves are long and some are

short. Wave lengths of different speeds

produce different sensations in the eyes,

each of which we know as color.

Color IS Not Color, Color IS Light

When we look at a red object, we should realize that the

objects have no actual color. What they do have is a

certain physical property called their color quality which

enables them to absorb some of the light waves and

reflect others.

As you can see, color property “black”

absorbs all the wave lengths of the

spectrums.

What do you think will happen to the wave lengths

when they come into contact with a

color property “white”?

Color IS Not Color, Color IS Light

Now that we know what color is.
