Monica Michalski, Assistant Dean of Freshman Studies and Academic Support, St. Francis College (NY) Monica Michalski is the Assistant Dean of Freshman Studies and Academic Support at St. Francis College. She has been working in academic advisement for the past 6 ½ years. She graduated from St. Francis with a B.A. in Psychology, and went on to earn an M.A. in SocialOrganizational Psychology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. Monica oversees the Freshman-Sophomore Year Experience program as well as the academic advisement and tutoring centers at the College. She has designed and implemented many programs for at-risk students including a career planning seminar “Managing Your Future” geared for sophomores and an academic success program “Removing Obstacles to Success” for students with low grade point averages. She is also the co-chair of the College’s Retention Working Group and serves as an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department. Monica has presented at the Educational Policy Institute as well as at the Noel-Levitz Retention Management conferences.
