Primary Function We are looking for a sales orientated target driven ‘people person’ with an outgoing personality to take forward our successful volunteer operation. The successful candidates will co-ordinate sales and recruitment of all research and gap year participants. General Outline of the Role • To interpret the diverse range of enquiries from prospective gap year volunteers and to respond swiftly and appropriately to create and develop positive relations; • To increase both the number of people engaged and the number of new volunteers recruited by making outbound calls to existing sales leads; • To achieve specified sales conversion targets; • Maintain and develop existing and new volunteers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service and volunteer satisfaction. • Providing comprehensive, accurate and current marketing information on the projects; • Processing and presenting information on the recruitment of volunteers; • Co-ordinating interviews and recruitment sessions; • Assisting other staff at recruitment fairs, talks, Briefing and Training Weekends; Main Duties and Responsibilities • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • To promote the organisation and its key objectives to the public and develop the Frontier reputation and brand as part of our Sales team; Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and volunteer contact especially managing personal time and productivity; Follow up call backs, brochure requests and offers with varied communications (phone calls, e-mails, newsletters); Inform and advise people about our wide range of gap year projects and tours both over the phone and in person all over the country; Arrange interviews with prospective volunteers; Interview prospective volunteers face-to-face and over the telephone and build a rapport turning enquiries into travellers; Answer general enquiries from prospective volunteers; Contribute to the administrative efficiency of the team; Carry out market research on competitors (if applicable); Attend and represent the company at school and university talks and fairs as directed by the Marketing & Recruitment Manager; Identify inconsistencies, duplications and mistakes in information provided to volunteers and make changes in consultation with the Marketing & Recruitment Manager and Managing Director; Act as (out of hours) emergency contact for volunteers, family members and field staff; Provide assistance to the Volunteer Co-ordinator at Briefing Weekends and Training Weekends; Assist other London HQ staff, as necessary; Any other task which the Managing Director requests.

Terms & Conditions Hours of work: 10:00am – 6:00pm during weekdays and a minimum of 6 weekends per year (maybe we need to think of what the best time would be) 20 working days excluding public and bank holidays £13,000 per annum Fixed term, 6 months, additional 2-3 day trial period

Qualifications/Education/ Knowledge

Essential Educated to degree level Proven sales experience in the travel sector and in a sales team Experience of office administration procedures Experience of working with volunteers Meticulous administrative and time management skills Excellent written/oral communication and presentation skills Proven customer service responsive to the needs of diverse audiences Negotiation and liaison skills Good IT skills, particularly a good working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing Ability to work with limited supervision, and to be a proactive member of the team Commitment to conservation and successful sales Determined and focused Flexible approach Cheerful, lively, and energetic disposition Ability to motivate others and work as part of a team Self driven, results orientated with positive outlook
