ACM Damp Proof Membrane
ACM Damp Proof Membrane is a high performance epoxy resin primer designed for application onto concrete subfloors to seal and supress residual construction moisture which allows early laying of screeds, tiles and floor coverings. Available in clear, mid grey and tile red, many specifiers opt for a two colour application to ensure the first coat has been completely covered.
Note:- ACM Damp Proof Membrane will not resist significant hydrostatic or osmotic pressure (see below), nor replace the function of a properly constructed sandwich damp proof membrane.

CURING TIME AND WORKING TIME
Once mixed, the product has approximately 20 minutes working time and will cure within 24hrs at normal temperatures.

PA C K S I Z E A N D COVERAGE
ACM Damp Proof Membrane is available in 4.8kg units covering approximately 18sq.m on most substrates for a single coat. Do not attempt to extend the coverage further as the damp proofing properties may be impaired.

S U R FA C E P R E PA R AT I O N
Subfloor preparation is of key importance with products of this nature. The surface should be free of grease and oil. Weak material or laitence should be removed prior to application of this product. Highly polished surfaces e.g. powerfloated concrete should be mechanically textured. The floor should then be either vacuumed or swept clean. Sound, stable subfloor construction is essential.

ACM Damp Proof Membrane must not be used as a final wearing surface. It may be overcoated with the range of ACM products, or carpet, vinyl and other resilient floor coverings (see manufacturers recommendations). When applying the range of ACM smoothing compounds onto ACM Damp Proof Membrane, the final coat of the DPM must be blinded with ACM Aggregate and allowed to cure overnight. Loose aggregate should then be removed the next day and the screed applied directly.

ACM Damp Proof Membrane must not be used as a final wearing surface. If the relative humidity is between 85% and 97% then two coats should be applied, and also in cases where there is no integral damp proof membrane in the subfloor. The second coat must be applied within 24 hours of the first coat. If there is any doubt always specify two coats.
