Bible Reading Notes: Please collect these from Billie today. Florence and Nathan: They send a big thank you to all who contributed to their Xmas gift which came to £150. Recently they were together in Burundi ministering to a large group of bishops and their archbishop, and have been much encouraged. In a meeting in Matana, Nathan preached and over 50 people came to the Lord. In their own diocese there has been financial mismanagement under the previous regime so they are trying to sort this out. But they are delighted to see people having their faith revived and receiving Jesus into their lives. Hogmanay: If you'd like to be part of an Emmanuel get-together on 31st Dec. please speak to Billie. The idea would probably be to start in someone's house at about 8.30pm, (have some soup and some activity/game/ DVD or whatever, organised by the hosts) and then move on at 10pm to another home (for sausage rolls and nibbles or something and some more interaction???) before leaving for a final home at 11.30pm (for whatever the host thinks fit). None of this is set in stone. Times, menus etc. are variable! We may have 3 shorter stays depending on demand! And spiritual needs may be catered for too..... Coffee Money – a reminder to members of the church that the church incurs a cost of £25 for the teas, coffees and biscuits that are provided and any donation towards covering this cost would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. Flower Rota – December 27 – Eleanor.

Welcome
Welcome and Call to worship Opening Song: Come and Join the Celebration Opening Prayer and Confession We confess that amid all the joys and festivities of this season we have sometimes forgotten what Christmas really means, and have left the Lord Jesus out of our thinking and living: Father, forgive us. Help us to remember that you loved the world so much that you gave your only Son, who was born to be our Saviour: Lord, help us. We confess that we have allowed the most important event in history to become dulled by familiarity: Father, forgive us. Help us in this act of worship to recapture a sense of wonder, and to discover again the stupendous fact that the Creator of the universe has come to us as a newborn baby: Lord, help us. We confess to a selfish enjoyment of Christmas while we do little to help the homeless families of your world: Father, forgive us. Fill our hearts with the love that cares, that understands and gives; Show us how we can best serve those in need;\for the sake of him who was born in a stable, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Absolution O Come let us sing out to the Lord: let us shout in triumph to the Lord: Let us shout in triumph to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his face with thanksgiving And cry out to him joyfully in psalms. For the Lord is a great God: and a great king above all gods. In his hand are depths of the earth: And the peaks of the mountains are his also. The sea is his and he made it: his hands moulded dry land. Come let us worship and bow down: And kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is the Lord our God: we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. (Psalm 95)
