The Rocky Mountain Chapter of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers is offering the Essentials
of Hazardous Materials Management course Wednesday, May 14th – Friday, May 16th. The
course will begin 8:00 AM each day. We also offer additional time before and after class for Q&A
and practice exam questions from each day’s instruction.
Over 13,000 environmental, health and safety professionals have been certified by the Institute of
Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM). The extensive body of knowledge needed to
successfully pass the rigorous CHMM examination is covered in this focused 3-day course. Our
teachers are some of the most highly qualified CHMMs from around the Rocky Mountain Region.
The course covers laws and regulations, science, technology, management
principals, and the practical application of hazardous materials management.
Each student receives the latest edition of the textbook “Hazardous Materials
Management: Desk Reference” a $129 value and the Official ACHMM
Student Workbook. Upon request, we will mail your copy of the Desk
Reference free of charge, as soon as we have received payment for the
course. Course applications must be received by RMC-CHMM no later than
May 2, 2008.
The CHMM examination is now only offered as a paperless, computer-based
test. A testing cycle begins just after the course concludes, and participants can take the
examination during any testing cycle at a location certified by the Institute of Hazardous Materials
Management (IHMM). In Colorado, testing can be done at Colorado State University, Fort
Collins; Regis University, Denver; and Pueblo Community College, Pueblo. Other certified

For those who want to take the exam following the course, a complete application package with an
application fee of $90.00 and an examination fee of $150.00 must be submitted to IHMM by six
weeks before sitting for the CHMM examination. To learn more about CHMM certification, exam
