Course Designator applies to students whose first enrollment at KU was prior to Fall 1987. When one of the following letter codes appears in this column, it designates courses that satisfy the distribution requirements of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences: H: Humanities N: Natural Sciences S: Social Sciences U: Course does not satisfy a distribution requirement W: World Civilization WH: World Civilization and Humanities WS: World Civilization and Social Sciences Principal Course applies to students whose first enrollment at KU was Fall 1987 or later. When one of the following letter codes appears in this column, it identifies courses that satisfy principal and non-Western Culture requirements. Another restriction, not coded, is that undergraduate may not enroll in 800-900 level courses without permission of the dean’s office of the school offering the course. You must obtain the appropriate permission codes in order to enroll in any restricted entry section.
